Is there somewhere that you could fine detailed information about the 4th GA Inf? My GGG Grandfather, I was told, was the Surgeon for the 4th GA from 1863 until the end of the war. I'm more particulary looking for rosters. The websites I have been on only show who enlisted at the onset of the war. I can't find anything that shows later enlistments. I have a partial copy of my GGG Grandfather's 'Pension Record', but it states that he was home on sick leave when his unit surrendered. It states that his home was not far from where the unit surrendered. If this is true, then he could not have been in the 4th GA. As the 4th was part of the Army of Northern Virginia and his home was in Georgia. And besides, the 4th didn't recruit from Cherokee County, Georgia (where he lived). I know the 36th GA recruited men from Cherokee County, but all of the records I have looked through show him as being the Surgeon of the 4th GA Inf. If you have any suggestions, I would be indebted. Thank you.
