Regarding the "Athens Battalion" - would this unit be the same as: 23rd Battn., Infantry, Local Defense (Athens Battn., Enfield Rifle Battn.) ? Does anyone know of their history. I have a relative, Pvt. J. M. Ginn who enlisted with this organization; unknown enlistment date or which company (possibly Co. A).
