Alexander Deas

This Guy must have been pretty slick. His Name is everywhere in Augusta Georgia and yet no one seems to have ever heard of him. He was the Tax collector during the Civil war in Richmond Augusta Ga. He ran an ice house. He sold Furniture, was a Mason. Had three sons and they were all in the Civilwar and in the same outfits. 9th Ga . 20th Ga 62 Ga and the 8th gGa cavalry. Alexander was listed as a Lt in the Ga 9th. Then nothing. He was paroled in 1865 And was supposed to have died after 1868.His sons Names are William J Deas, Wesley alexander Deas, and Robert C Deas. Think William J was a Captain, Wesley A was a Ist Sgt in the 20th and the 8th. I am trying to establish that Alexander was in the Militia and think he served in that capacity till the end of the war. After his parole things are kindof skimpy. Can some on please tell me how to find a line onthis guy. Have bought ssome of the records but have had no luck with ALEXANDER. Please help if you can
