A look at the 1859 city directory list's him as the tax collector, but nothing else. I ddo have some clips out ofn the Augusta Chronicle about him being in the icehouse business, and he had lost a note for a good some of money and had a calvary horse stolen from him in 1866 plus the plug about him getting paroled in 1865. Thanks a lot Alan, I will keep looking as he was in Johston county NC and then came to Richmond county Ga. Like I said he was a little slippery.
