The 29th Inf(Ga) was from Berrien county;all regiments recruited outside their area and then as now the recruiter who could paint he more attractive picture got the rcruit. My GGFather was from houston county and he joined although I don't know how they contacted him.I should corrct myself...Co.G was from berrien and the other companies were from surrounding counties.these counties were not heaily populated at that time.
