As you say, Captain Lemon's award was for actions at Ft. Sanders during the attack on Knoxville, where he was captured after going over the parapet. He was commander of Co. A, 18th Georgia, ANV, raised by Wm. T. Wofford and at that time commanded by Col. S.Z. Ruff, who was killed in the attack. My GGF, Lemuel H. Boring, and two Great Uncles, Alexander . Boring, and Francis A. Boring, were all in Co. A. L.H. died at Seven Pines; F.A. was wounded at Spottsylvania May 1864, and captured July 11 at Roswell, Georgia while on recuperative leave from his wound. He was sent to Camp Douglas. His year there he said gave him rheumatism. Alex was captured October 19, 1864 at Cedar Creek. He was sent to Point Lookout. The brothers were paroled in June 1865, and walked home, according to family history. Captain Lemon also returned to Cobb County, and signed Uncle Alex's pension request. This site contains excerpts from Captain Lemon's diary, including comments about his sojourn as one of the 600, and a picture taken at Ft. Delaware, where he was incarcerated: http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~allenatk/lemon.html Stan
