George,

All these request(s) for info from Cash appear to all be related to some review of men interred in Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond and this posting, in particular, caught my eye. John Warren Jackson is interred under the Confederate mound at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ashland, VA where he died. Lillian Henderson's Roster, your likely source, is wrong as is John Fox's like entry in his book "Red Clay to Richmond" (which I pointed out to John--he published my book "Southerner's at Rest" and he is a good friend).

J. James is actually John James of the 45th Georgia (Co. F). His Hollywood Cemetery grave is marked and he died at Jackson Hospital (a source of burials for Hollywood) on June 8, 1864. No such J. James served in the 48th Ga., though Henderson listed him in her roster. (She used Georgia State records rather than NARA files).

Andrew J. Johnston is in Hollywood as his name appears on the surviving hospital records for Jackson at NARA. He died Dec. 6, 1864, and the regimental return as written by his surgeon read, "Co. B,9th Artillery Battalion".

Johnson is also in Hollywood.
