Thanks for your reply and work on Confederate soldiers from Barbour County, an interest we share. Your identification is correct. Evidently John Driggers lived near a steam mill not far from Eufaula, probably along Chewalla Creek.

As my study strictly concerned residents from the 1860 census, your focus may be a little different. For instance, Warren F. Dent, a boy who lived in Charles County MD during the war. Even though he gives a birth date of March 1856 on the 1920 census of Montgomery AL, he could have assisted Confederate agents during the war. Homer Jones mentioned W. F. Dent on the Alabama message board back in 2001.
