Re: Gordon's Brigade at Hatcher's Run, VA

Bryce,

Its been 20 years since I did the research for my 1997 book, "A History of the 31st Georgia Volunteer Infantry", and I don't have the page or column. I can check for you on a future visit to the University of GA library, or state archives, which is where I likely located the casualty list. Its been too many years, but this same publication might also have the casualty lists for the remaining regiments of the brigade.

I subscribe to GenealogyBank.com which features numerous newspapers online. In the 4/1/1865 Macon Telegraph, p. 1, is a very detailed account (by "COURIER") of Hatcher's Run, mentioning Gordon & Evans' commands several times.

By the way, the 13th-26th-31st-38th-60th-61st GA regiments (and 12th GA Battn) were technically Clement A. Evans' brigade at the time of Hatcher's Run, and commanded by Col. John Baker of the 13th GA. Evans was actually commanding the division; Gordon the 2nd Corps.

Hope this helps.

Greg
