Re: Jno (John) McFail Hendry Chaplain GS

John M. Hendry, appointed Chaplain, 3rd Regiment Florida Volunteers October 11, 1861, confirmed December 24, 1861, dropped see "D." 285

M331: Compiled Service Records of Confederate General and Staff Officers, and Nonregimental Enlisted Men

Comment: There's only two cards in his file which includes the terse statement - "dropped see 'D.' 285. I have no idea to what this refers.

I cannot find a record for him in the roster of the 3rd Florida other than he is listed as a Chaplain in the Field & Staff listing. Another Chaplain, W. J. Duval is listed after Rev. John, as having resigned Feb. 1, 1864.
