Linton Acre, 48 year old Farmer, born in Banks County, Ga., enlisted as a Private in Company A, 30th Battalion Georgia Cavalry* May 2, 1864 at Mossy Creek, White County, Georgia by Captain N. J. Hubbard for the war, [to serve in North Eastern part of Georgia], captured at Waynesborough December 4, 1864 by 3rd Cavalry Division, U. S. Army, admitted January 3, 1865 to US Army 2nd Division, 20th Army Corps. Hospital, Savannah, Georgia, Acute Diarrahoea, no further records

* This company subsequently became Company A, 11th Regiment Georgia Cavalry.

The 30th Battalion Georgia Cavalry, with the addition of four companies raised under authority of the War Department where the Conscript Act could not be enforced, constituted the 11th Regiment Georgia Cavalry, by S.O. No. 271, A. & I. G. O., dated November 14, 1864.
