I researched the battle of West Point (aka Fort Tyler) and it said that local boys were brought to defend the area against union forces. I was wondering if there is a list of the civilians who were in the battle. My grandfather, George W. Motley, was a member of Ferrell's Battery, GA artillery until separated from the unit and he walked home. He lived near La Grange in Troup County, the same county where the battle was fought. Could you please let me know if a George W./G.W. Motley is mentioned in such list, if any? Or if men across the whole county were called to fight?
