Unfortunately, there was no such thing as enlistment papers in the Confederate army. All we have to go on are his companies bi-monthly muster rolls for pay.

There we find only his name, sometimes age, and place of enlistment, that's it.

Parents are rarely found, and then, only if one or the other, filed claim for his pay, allowances, effects, in the case of his death while in service.

I gave a shot at the census via Ancestry.com and could not locate either him or David who I believe to be kin.
