I'm still looking into the U.S. Military Prison in Macon; it's mentioned in several CSRs, but otherwise I haven't found anything. According to Charles Misulia, p.219, "On April 25 the prisoners taken at the Battle for Columbus were paroled in Macon and released." So I suppose whatever sort of place Wilson kept prisoners in Macon for a few days might have been called a prison, possibly even the former C.S. prison, Camp Oglethorpe, which had been shut down when Sherman passsed nearby the previous December.
