Thanks George. I had found most of what you listed, but mostly I was wondering what type of duty a unit with a name like "Light Duty Men" would perform. Apparently they were involved in the defense of Macon when Sherman sent McCook down there after Atlanta. Possibly the only action they saw. I just thought it was an odd name for a military unit.
