A good reference for camps is William S. Smedlund’s “Camp Fires of Georgia Troops, 1861-1865.”

He says that from 9/7/63 to 10/7/63 the 66th Ga Regiment was at Camp Lamar Cobb in Gadsden County, Florida. The camp was located one to two miles below Quincy in an old field convenient to a very bold spring.

The town of Chattahoochee is in Gadsden County, just below where the river becomes the Apalachicola.
