Thank you sir for clearing that up. I live near the Kennesaw Mt battlefield and went by one day and asked about this fort Cobb. Campires of Ga was referenced quickly but not located. I googled it with no luck, too. The story of the 66th is written by its founder and Colonel, I have started reading this book which cannot be checked out of the main Cobb Cty library "4 years under fire" I thnk is the title. I have a large number of descendants that wore Gray ( 1 blue) and need to do more research on where they went throughout the war.

The relative in the 66th had a brother that couldn't not physically hold up. They were in the 66th Ga Reg alry"Oglethorpes" from the Augusta area. This brother was barefoot and broken down on a retreat from a battle when he recognized a friend in the Cavalry who gave him a horse to ride to prevent capture. As luck would have it he was gathering up stuff like blankets, pots, shoes ( yankee spoils) ect. in quantity, who rides up on him but Bedford Forest who proceeded to rip him a new one, unjustly as he was gathering supplies for his unit that had lost everything. Forest thought he was a freeloader I guess. Thank you again Mr Walker.
