All 3 Porter boys say they were born in SC. Family appears on the 1850 census for Antioch, Troup Co., GA. Father, James Porter died between 1850 and 1859, mother Tabitha Porter McJunkin remarried 1859 to Davis McJunkin of Antioch/Pools Mill, Troup Co., GA. All I know for sure is that he didn't come back from the Civil War, he didn't show up 28 July 1861 in Richmond, VA and family always said he died in Civil War. Have checked cemeteries in Troup Co. but don't know where to look now. Because of staff shortages GA Archives in Morrow no longer will do research and I live in Portland, OR. Would think it would have been Captain John T. Boykins job to notify parents but I don't know. Patt
