A group of us with the Ocmulgee Archaeological Society conducted a "dig" at the Earthworks of a fort, on private property, that guarded the Railroad bridge over the Flint River in Taylor County, Georgia.
The "Georgia State Bridge Guard" was raised to guard the W&A Railroad. I am searching for the actual unit that was assigned to this fort and any other possible information.
