Here is John Thomas Knowles' headstone in Broxton Cemetery, Broxton, GA.

Note that there is some discrepancy about his date of birth. I have seen 1845 and 1847. His obit says he was 16 when he joined the Confederacy. There is also a second (or, i believe, original) marker at the cemetery. I think the first one I listed was added by his family later. This one is the original, i think:
