my kind of yankee

This man was born in 1823 in Princeton, NJ. I do not have any idea when he might have moved to Ga. But he joined Co. I, 29th Ga. as noted below. I found his grave in Myrtle Hill Cemetery, in Rome, Ga. this past weekend, and found it very interesting. On the back side of his headstone is a Confederate flag draped over a shaft. this was cast into the stone when it was made. His mother must have been visiting someone in NJ when he was born, because he was a true southerner when it came to the war. He died in Rome in 1874.
"Terhune, William Barclay- private October 1, 1861 . Acting Adjutant of regiment December 1861 . On extra duty as clerk in Q.M. Dept. May-July 1862 . Discharged by civil authority at Savannah, Ga. August 10, 1862 . Enlisted as a private in Co. D, l0th Regiment Ga. State Guards Cavalry. Appointed Drillmaster; Superintendent of Cave Springs Nitre Works."
