Re: GA 36th Infantry Regiment -Company L

Tennessee had the same restriction and they allowed no exceptions.

I have one record of a Lt. whose home was near Nashville. Three times during the war, he was seriously wounded and spent
months in re-hap.

He was last seriously wounded at the Battle of Franklin, Tenn. December, 1864.

There were no Confederate hospitals nearby. He was transported back home by comrades and began re-cuperation with his
family.

Worried they might be treated badly by the Federal troops in command, he turned himself in taking the Oath, well in advance of Lee's
surrender April 9, 1865.

He was none-the-less denied a pension in Tennessee.

Time were different then.
