Just to confirm George's reference to there being no York in the 50th Georgia Infantry Regiment. I am the author of the regimental history for the 50th Georgia, and there is no York listed in my 1,400-man regimental roster. The 50th Georgia was made up of men from the Wiregrass Region of Southern Georgia.
