David S. Floyd, from Gordon County, GA, joined and was enrolled on August 4 1863, in Capt. Edward L. Morton's Co., 8th Georgia State Troops. His Company Muster Roll card for Sept. 10 to Dec. 31 1863 states that the Company was called into active service on Sept.10,1863. In the remarks column it states that David went into Confederate service and never served with this Company.
I found in the usgwarchives.org that there was a D. Samuel Floyd transferred to Co. F, 36th Ga. Infantry on Sept. 3, 1863 from an unknown command. I believe this is the same man but have not yet linked the two for certain, and I wondered if anyone could help ?
Maybe Muster Rolls from the 36th, etc ?
