Not much help here, but this is what is found in the records I have available.

David S. Floyd, Private, Capt. Edward L. Morton's Company, Georgie State Troops,* enlisted August 4, 1863 at Decatur by Capt. E. L. Morton for 6 months, recorded on December 31, 1864 as "Went into Confederate Service, never did serve in this company," no further records

* This company subsequently became Company B, 8th Regiment Georgia State Guards

Residence DeKalb County GA;
Enlisted as a Private (date unknown).
On 9/3/1863 he transferred into "F" Co. GA 36th (Broyles') Infantry (date and method of discharge not given)
(Enlisted in unknown regt prior to the 36th)
