Didnt know if anyone was gathering information on this unit, but my great grandfather served in this unit. He was G.W. Allen and was a calvary soldier. He and his horse enlisted on March 21st 1863 in Bainbridge. He was captured at the battle of Waynesboro when Sherman was marching to Savannah on December 4, 1864 near Savannah. He escaped and was recaptured on December 22 and taken to Point Lookout Maryland as a POW. He was released on June 9, 1865. I know this was a small unit and not much is known but any information is appreciated.
