I. Col. J. BRYAN is authorized to organise a Regiment of Cavalry for my Brigade of the Reserve Corps.
II. Companies organized by him, or under his authority, will be reported to me, and the muster-rolls forwarded to the Adjutant and Inspector General’s Office, Richmond, V., as part of my command.

BOLD SPRING, Ga., Sept. 27th, 1864
In pursuance of an Act of Congress, passed in 1864, I propose to raise a Regiment of the Reserve Corps (Cavalry) for State service, not to go out of the State. All men between the ages of 16 and 17 and 45 to 50, are called for.

Dorough’s Cavalry Regiment
Headq’rs Reg’t, Phi Delta, Ga., Nov. 20, 1864.
Companies belonging to my command will report to Gen. Glenn at Athens, Ga., with four days’ rations forthwith. Commanding officers of companies will see that all their men are present.

At an election held near Athens, on Wednesday, 30th November, for Field Officers in the 2d Reg. Cavalry Reserves, Glenn’s Brigade, the following gentlemen were elected:

Glenn’s Brigade
The following exhibits the number of men in this Brigade, now in camp near this place. These figures are derived from the morning report of the 19th:

Bryan’s Regiment - Present 20 officers, 123 men - total 143. Absent with leave: officers 20, enlisted men 130 - agg. 150. Absent without leave, enlisted men 135; agg 135. Total 628.

Dorough’s Regiment - Present 18 officers, 137 men - total 155. Absent with leave: officers 25, enlisted men 141 - agg. 166. Absent without leave, officers 2; enlisted men 206; agg 208. Total 538.

Dyer’s Battalion - Present 8 officers, enlisted men 79; agg. 89. Absent with leave: officers 7, enlisted men 49 - agg. 56. Absent without leave, officers 4; enlisted men 178; agg 182. Total 325.
Strength of the above command - 1491.
Besides the above, Col. McCollum’s and Col. Baker’s regiments, and Maj. Pool’s Battalion are now in process of organization. These last named officers have over 1000 men in their commands, which will make the entire strength of Gen. Glenn’s command about 2500.
