Re: "Galvanized Yankees" from Georgia

Believe it or not, I have a couple of "blood relatives" from Georgia who wound up being "Galvanized Yankees or Whitewashed Rebels." Needless to say, they were suffering in Camp Douglas and saw no way out. They were Joshua Daughtry and Allen Wilkinson. They were first cousins and natives of the Fifteen Mile Creek area. In those days, this creek often served as the county line between Bulloch and Emanuel Counties. Now, this area is part of Candler County. They belonged to Company A of The Fourth Battalion Of Georgia Sharpshooters -- Army Of Tennessee. They were captured while on a scouting mission -- just north of Peachtree Creek. Of course, this was during the Atlanta Campaign -- July 21, 1864.

I recently published a book entitled: "Confederate Tales Of Candler And Connected Counties." Both of these guys appear in my book. Hope this helps you.
