I just found something very interesting to me,on a grave in Randolph County Ala. The foot stone was marked with the mans name, but it also had "CAMP OF INSTRUCTION, CONFEDERATE STATES ARMY" I just looked it up on the internet and apparently Alabama had two such camps. Sort of an enrollment camp, using men that were unfit for front line duty, to go out and find men of the correct ages to enlist. But the internet said nothing about any other states having such camps, does anyone know of Georgia having such a camp?? This was the first time I had seen such markings on any grave stone.
