Paid $80 for the month of March 1864

His formal appointment certificate as well as a number of handwritten documents, including his formal statement of inability to serve are contained in his records found in M331, Compiled Service Records of Confederate General and Staff Officers, etc. There are no records in the roster of the 40th Georgia
