Re: Livingston's/ Pickler's/ Piercy's Battalion

The 1st Missouri Cavalry Battalion, Indian Brigade, is very obscure. It was known in the field as the "Cherokee Spikes", and "Rangers". It's first Major, Thomas R. Livingston, was formerly Colonel, 11th Cavalry Regiment, 8th Division, Missouri State Guard, 1861-1862, and Major Andrew Jackson Piercey, a VMI alumnus, was the LT Colonel of the MSG regiment. The regiment was the source of the "Spikes".
The most I have ever seen on the "Spikes" is in a booklet from the Ozark Genealogical Society named CONFEDERATE ORGANIZATIONS: OFICERS AND POSTS; 1861-1865; MISSOURI UNITS, pp. 1-2. It shows the unit served from 1862 to the end od the war. Majors Livingston, and Pickler was killed in combat. If you located the muster-rolls, please share the names of the officers!?
