I really do not have a lot, but my file shows a John Gott, 1st Lieut. Co. B, Cherokee Mounted Volunteers. National Archives Microfilm Box, Roll and Number 000818, 0010, 00000339. These numbers are not necessary but they may save you a little time if you are visiting a Natinal Archives office, Washington, Dallas, KC, Atlanta etc. His compiled service records can be ordered. Look up the National Archives and Records on the Internet and follow their directions. I'll admit they are sometmes rather slow, but not always.
