Musgraves/Youngs in the war

I have a ggggrandfather, James "Anderson" Musgrave who fought in the 1st Ark INf, union. His wife's name is Milly Young Musgrave. Many of her brothers and nephews fought as well as her own children. I have a letter written by Anderson to Milly dated Nov. 1864 and it is from Arkansas Post, Little Rock. In it he talks about their son, Rufus, dying on his way home from the war, but no military records can be found for Rufus. He also talks of Elisha Young, his
brother in law, and how his three children have died there at the post and how Nancey will soon die. I can't find any kind of documentation for them at the post(civilians), nor for Rufus. Does anyone have any helpful information or suggestions????Help!!!!!
