The same records indicate the regimental surgeons at various times were as follows:

W. T. Adair, Surgeon (in original regiment, known as "2nd Cherokee"). Both William D. Polson and Francis H. Fisk were Assistant Surgeons in the re-organized regiment (known as "1st Cherokee").

[The records are far from complete and give a "snapshot" only on the date the rolls were made. For example, W. P. Adiar is listed on this same roll as A.Q.M. (which is either "acting" or "assistant" quartermaster) but he is later regimental commander of the new 2nd Regiment of Cherokee Volunteers.]
