Re: Ralph Jones/OHS Mapping Grant
In Response To: Ralph Jones/OHS Mapping Grant ()

Included in the latest Arkansas Historic Preservation Program E-newsletter: "..work is underway on a map that will focus on Civil War sites in the area where Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas meet. This project led by Ralph Jones of the Oklahoma Historic Society, will feature info on 30 or more Civil War-related sites in the region and the importance of preserving such properties..." I believe this program will benefit not only to the every day Civil War buff, but it will also encourage others to learn more about the War and the impact that it levied on the local populace. This map and the associated information is something that has long been needed, and I commend Mr. Jones, the OHS and others who made this possible.
