For those of you who want to do something on July 14 but don't want to drive to Oklahoma City, please come to the annual Honey Springs Battlefield Memorial Service.

The program begins at 10:30 and will include a joint color guard, a rifle salute, a cannon salute, and the playing of "Taps" to honor those who died in the largest "hostile encounter" in the Indian Territory. The program this year will be a brief demonstration "Civil War Bugle Calls".

This will be followed by the Friends' annual luncheon (free) and their business meetings.
