I have no doubt that Pike was doing his best and Van Dorn, Hindman, Holmes and others were taking money and supplies meant to be delivered to the Indians. Then when things became unbearable and Pike resigned they tried to make him look like a traitor. I will order the book on Pike tomorrow. I would also like to keep shaking the money tree and see what falls out.
