It's an interesting idea. It is peculiar that everyone who looks at this, seems to come up with lots of vague reports, usually secondhand or worse, lacking specifics etc. It is always something like someone reporting after a fight that they saw an Indian wearing a grey uniform, maybe with an Enfield who cussed them in English, etc., but they didn't get close enough to get any real evidence, like a body. Or, even more often, another Indian reports that some other tribe, is fighting with the South.
If you are right about Ware, I would think he might exaggerate this to make the Rebels look evil. Using Indians in warfare was regarded as a terrible atrocity, although both sides actually did it. Didn't Ware have some combat experiance in southern MO or the IT?
