Curtis,

I vividly remember the leader of the TMR at the time telling me about you and your unfortunate experience of being shot and robbed. They started the reenactment that first day by saying a prayer for you.

It was the first Civil War reenactment I ever attended and I still remember how the crowd yelled and cheered when the Confederates charged the Federal forces.

That experience of taping the reenactment led to a lot of other things. That's where I first met Rick Harding and Jerry Haden. I still have a photograph of Rick, Jerry and me standing together with some Cub Scout looking at us from the side like we were the three stooges. (Little did he know or did he?) Of course, Rick and I would go on to produce the Cabin Creek documentary and a few other videos and commercials together. Jerry and I would become friends and often travel to Civil War shows together. May he rest in peace. I miss him.

It was because of the positive experience with the TMR at the Will Rogers Birthplace reenacment that I met and became friends with you as well.

Good memories.

Best from Va. Beach,
Steve
P.S. Do you have any of that wood from the Roger's slave cabins? If so, save me a piece. :)
