Well, the fact is that the United States Army Corps of Engineers built Keystone Dam and created the lake. Not even the presence of Spiro-era archeological sites could stop the Corps from flooding an area in eastern Oklahoma in the 1980s, when the State Archeological Survey begged for more time to complete its surveys . . . local fishermen and bait-shop owners called Speaker Albert's office and the order was given to flood the area . . .

So please don't assume the Oklahoma Historical Society is responsible for the creation of Keystone lake . . . especially not for the purpose of hiding history.
