The Battle of Honey Springs absolutely fascinates me! Study it deeply and you discover Yale educated Rebels, a successful political general, and the first African American regiment to see combat. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. It's an incredibly important site that Oklahoma rarely acknowledges. Just thought I'd wax poetic as the anniversary nears. Keep up the great work. I wish there was more I could do.I'm a high school history teacher who has loved the Civil War since seventh grade. This site is great. It and the OR are my two best places to read about the Civil War in Indian Territory. Thanks.
