I suspect the 'Brushy Mountain' reference came from me. I now believe that is incorrect as Brushy Mountain is closer to Ft Gibson than the 15 miles that Steele states in his report. Cabell's report says 'less than 20 miles'. I believe Prairie Springs was a few miles south of Brushy Mountain and east of Honey Springs. By the way, this site is in Muskogee County, as is Brushy Mountain, not Wagoner County.
