Patricia: thank you very much for the info - very useful and I really appreciate it. I'm not sure about the Hammett's of Claremore. My grandpa was Henry Hammett Co.K 44th Alabama infantry, mortally wounded at Petersburg. What was left of his family, left their homes in Alabama in approx. 1880 and headed to Texas, my bunch only made it as far as Louisiana and settled there. It's very possible that we are kin, because so many families that had lost all, left their homes and headed west in the 80's. I need to go there someday to meet and enjoy the food.
