Was wondering if anyone out there has any additional info re the 48th KY Inf. and 26th KY Inf. (USA) during 1863-1864?

One of my gg-grandpas from Hardin Co. Ill. (across Ohio River from Crittenden County, KY) was in both Federal units as described in URL given below. Several men from Southern Illinois counties served in Federal Kentucky units apparently; the 48th KY Inf. seemed to spend a fair amount of time chasing John Hunt Morgan et al.

Any and all info/interactions, etc. VERY greatly appreciated!!!!
