Joyce,

There was a William M. Tucker in Co. H, 9th Kentucky Cavalry, CSA. But I don't know if this is the same soldier - this soldier had a KY Confederate pension (#3770 from Campbell Co.), and his widow Nancy Hutson Tucker also had a pension after his death (#4410, Campbell Co.). His pension file says he was born in 1841 in Bracken Co., and hers says he was born in 1846 in Bracken Co. (died 3/25/1926).

This is the only William Tucker listed in rosters of the 9th Ky. Cav. CSA. (Info from Steve Lynn's books on KY Confederate Soldiers and Pensioners)

For the ladies' groups, try the United Daughters of the Confederacy, http://www.hqudc.org/ , or the Order of Confederate Rose, http://www.hqudc.org/

Hope this helps,

Geoff Walden
