Thank you very much, Jack. I have to admit that I find the news about the way he died to be very sad, even though I didn't know, and it was so long ago. Funny how that works. His daughter Nancy's picture is actually up on my living room wall among other family pictures. She died as a very old woman in the late 1950's, sometimes known in the little valley where they lived, as "Aunt Nanny Tate." She was also widowed at an early age and my father, a close elderly cousin, and others lived with her at various times when they were children. Anyhow, I'll go ahead now and buy that book, and also look into getting the book about the 34th.
