Thanks for the reply, Dan
Spencer R Thorpe signed an authograph book for a Lt.
Samuel Dibble at Johnsons Island. He signed as Spencer R Thorpe. Lt. Co. A 2nd Ky Cal. Morgans Division Bardstown Ky.
This book contains 230 autographs of officers at Johnsons Island between July 63 and Nov 64 when Lt Dibble was imprisoned. Many state that they were captured at Port Hudson or at Gettysburg. Many are well known General Officers.
Other than this info and the fact that he married my grandmothers aunt, a Louisiana woman of french descent and later moved to CA and is listed as a confederate veteran in the family genealogy I have no more info on him. I was hoping to fill out some more on his background apparently in Ky.
