Colonel Harvey M. Buckley

I am researching the Fourteenth Army Corps, Department of the Cumberland, as it existed shortly before the battle of Stone River. Colonel Harvey M. Buckley, 5th Kentucky (Louisville Legion), commanded the Third Brigade, Second Division, Right Wing until just shortly before the army moved towards Bragg on December 26th. Colonel Philemon Baldwin took over the command on Buckley's departure. I would appreciate any information on why Buckley left the army, as well as any and all information about what happened to him before he returned to active service some 2 years later. Any information or directions to source material about this particular matter would be appreciated. I have good information on Buckley before this command change, and then much later when he returned to active service as colonel of a new, and much later, Kentucky regiment.
