I don't have any particular question Keith. I'm just hoping to spark some general discussion in that particular time frame of the war. I'll throw out some general questions to generate some thought.
For instance, at what point did Johnston realize the hopelessness of his position in Kentucky actually start the evacuation of Bowling Green? Why didn't he go to Ft. Donaldson to personally supervise the battle or for that matter manage the entire front from Nashville? Why did he allow himself to be out flanked by Thomas at Mill Springs? Or follow through on the souths gunboat construction program? and so on.
It just seems that he focused on Bowling Green to the point that he overlooked other important details along his line of defence.
