From the roster of the Iowa 14th Infantry Company G:
Wade, William B. Age 25. Residence Crystal, Tama County, nativity Canada. Enlisted September 29, 1863. Mustered January 23, 1864. Died April 1, 1864, New Orleans Louisiana. Buried in Monument National Cemetery, New Orleans Louisiana.
Wade died in Louisiana of disease. He was not brought home for burial to the Crystal cemetery. The roster tells where he was buried but I cannot locate him at Chalmette or elsewhere nearby. His grave should have been well marked but I cannot locate him. Any ideas?
